Every generation has an opportunity to leave its legacy.
Brothers, Jeremy, Justin, and Jordan Willet started the band in 2006 after years of piano lessons from their father (who now serves as a Pastor). After a trip to Ethiopia, Africa in 2007, the band began to use its music to "speak up for those who can't speak for themselves" (Proverbs 31:8). Early in their career, the brothers realized that the family legacy they wanted to leave behind was: to be a voice for the poor.
In 2012, Willet released "The Love on the outside E.P." (Produced by Grammy Nominated, Aaron Gillespie of Underoath & The Almost) and sold over 10,000 copies in less then a year through a pay-what-you-can model online at all live shows in an effort to advance the Gospel of Jesus to the nations. Willet tours full-time to support Willet Missions; working to mobilize 1 million nutritious meals for hungry children around the world, as well as lead short-term mission trips, and support community development projects as a Gospel-centered response to poverty. Through performance fees and merchandise, the band underwrites all the operational expenses for Willet Missions, insuring that 100% of donations towards the mission efforts can be used to impact the poor in Jesus’ name.
The Bible is clear about how to respond to hunger by telling followers of Jesus to “give food to the hungry” (Matthew 25:31-46). Therefore, we have partnered with Stop Hunger Now to fund and pack 1 Million Nutritious Meals for hungry children worldwide. Every dehydrated rice/soy meal is fortified with 21 essential vitamins and nutrients. Meals are primarily used to support programs that are designed for sustainability and not survivability. The food distribution is executed through school-feeding programs, which increases student enrollment, improves health and nutrition, spurs economic growth, combats child labor and promotes community sustainability. *Visit the FAQ section to read the accountability measures required for a partner to receive food.
We recognize that physical poverty is a result of sin (spiritual poverty), and therefore we strive to share the love of Jesus with the lost, while also providing for physical needs and strengthening on-field partners working to make disciples. (Matthew 28:16-20) Therefore, we have partnered with Food for the Hungry to adopt a community called Gorongosa in Mozambique, Africa to support holistic community development through sustainable agriculture initiatives, clean water projects, medical clinics, educational resources and pastoral leadership programs.
Willet Missions staff recognizes that our passion for poverty-ministry is a direct result of an initial visit to an impoverished community. Therefore, we have assembled a short-term field strategy that allows U.S. advocates to experience poverty first-hand, connect with international partners, visit the school-feeding programs, and participate in community programs such as: leading pastoral trainings, teaching sustainable agriculture, and sharing the love of Jesus. The international community has direct collaboration with our field-coordinator to determine the activities, programs, and resources that they feel will be most helpful to the long-term sustainability of their community. As the ministry of Willet Missions continues to grow, we desire to equip, support, and send a team of long-term missionaries to the field.

Biography:
Every generation has an opportunity to leave its legacy.
In 1928, a man named Robert Willet was born in rural Westminster, Maryland. His upbringing on this 86-acre farm included an instilment of family values such as a love for Jesus, love for The Church, and a love for family. While working on the farm alongside his father, Daniel Willet during the depression, he inherited a hard work ethic, which is a value found in each member of the family to this day. As Robert grew older and inherited the farm, he continued the original Willet Family values, but also introduced his own legacy of: integrity. He believed that your “yes should be yes, and your no should be no”. His legacy was passed down to his 2 sons, Jim and Glen, and these brothers introduced the next generational value to the family: ministry through music.
On February 18th, 2012, after 60 years of marriage, Robert Willet went home to be with The Lord. His legacy, however, was passed on to his grandsons, 3 of whom make up the band, Willet. Brothers, Jeremy, Justin, and Jordan Willet grew up on the farm property and started the band in 2006 after years of piano lessons from their father (who now serves as a Pastor). In 2009, the band set up Willet Missions to fund lead singer, Jeremy Willet's wife as a missionary to Haiti. On January 12th, 2010, a 7.0 earthquake hit Haiti while Kathleen Willet was in-country. Thankfully, Kathleen and all the children she was caring for survived the disaster. Willet Missions would spend the rest of 2010 in Port-au-Prince responding to the Haiti Earthquake with food, medical supplies, and short-term relief teams.
In 2012, Willet released "The Love on the outside E.P." (Produced by Grammy Nominated, Aaron Gillespie of Underoath & The Almost) and sold over 10,000 copies in less then a year through a pay-what-you-can model online at all live shows in an effort to advance the Gospel of Jesus to the nations. As the band approaches a decade of making music together, here are a few highlights of their career:
- Recorded & released 6 studio albums including worship songs distributed through CCLI for congregational use in North America
- 10 city tour with Sanctus Real (2009)
- Founded Willet Missions (2009)
- One month tour in New Zealand & performance @ Parachute Festival w/ Switchfoot (2010)
- Performed & shared Gospel in Nassau, Bahamas as part of Cruise with a Cause w/ Sonicflood (2010)
- Performed & shared Gospel in Negril, Jamaica as part of Cruise with a Cause w/ Casting Crowns (2011)
- Performed & shared Gospel in London during the Summer Olympic Games (2012)
- 25 City Nationwide tour with Family Force 5 & Disciple (2012)
- Performed & shared the Gospel in Vera Cruz, Nicaragua (2013)
- Found over 2,500+ sponsors for children living in poverty with Food for the Hungry
- Traveled to and adopted impoverished communities of:
1. Zeway & Belo, Ethiopia (2007-2009)
2. Aux Cadet, Haiti (2009-2010)
3. Gorongosa, Mozambique (2011-present)
Today, the band is much more then a family name. Willet has always been an independent band managing bookings, merchandise, touring, distribution, and marketing "in-house" from their ministry offices in Westminster, MD with a small staff of 6 individuals who love Jesus. Willet continues to tour full-time to support Willet Missions; working to mobilize 1 million nutritious meals for hungry children around the world, as well as lead short-term mission trips, and support community development projects as a Gospel-centered response to poverty. Through performance fees and merchandise, the band underwrites all the operational expenses for Willet Missions, insuring that 100% of donations towards the mission efforts can be used to impact the poor in Jesus’ name (www.willetmissions.org).
The Willet brothers are now married with families of their own, some even living on the family farm property! They continue the traditional family values of a love for Jesus, love for The Church, love for family, a hard work ethic, integrity and ministry through music, but hope their generation will leave its mark by being a voice for the poor.
In 2013, the band is returning to the studio in Nashville to record the highly anticipated full-length album with executive producer, Mike Donehey (Lead singer of Tenth Avenue North).

The Hunger Strike partners with local churches to host 10,000-meal packing events for 100-300 participants of all ages. Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item as their admission cost to support local families in need.
